Job purpose

Plant Maintenance personnel are responsible for installing and maintaining plant equipment in a safe, clean, effective manner to ensure the production of high quality products while meeting all regulatory compliance requirements.

As a key member of the plant operations team, the Plant Maintenance personnel will:

  • Be jointly responsible for contributing towards the achievement of the company’s goals

Duties and responsibilities

  • Work safely following all company safety policies, practices, procedures and improvement initiatives
  • Comply with all regulatory compliance requirements regarding environmental, and food/feed safety
  • Maintain, repair, and install plant equipment
  • Perform regular equipment monitoring, troubleshooting and service to ensure reliability and equipment uptime
  • Install and repair plant equipment to OEM standards
  • Maintain a clean work environment to ensure safety and product quality
  • Communicate any accidents, threats, downtime, or cost saving measures to the shift supervisor
  • Assist other production and maintenance personnel as needed or requested


  • High school Diploma or equivalent
  • Communicates well and accurately maintains records
  • Experience in food/feed production a plus
  • Mechanically inclined and troubleshooting abilities
  • Associates degree or two years’ experience working on mechanical/process equipment
  • Can operate welders, torches and cutters
  • Can operate bobcats, forklifts, tractors, trucks and Simons lift
  • Boiler experience/certification a plus
  • HVAC/Refrigeration experience/certification a plus
  • Basic electrical and instrumentation knowledge and experience a plus
  • Able to maintain and service material handling equipment
  • Understand and operate basic computer systems

Physical requirements

  • Lift 30 pounds repeatedly
  • Occasionally push and/or pull heavy objects (approx. 100 lbs. max)
  • Occasionally lift up to 100 lbs. from floor to waist level
  • Frequently bend at the waist and/or knees
  • Frequently climb stairs and/or ladders (up to 40 ft.)
  • Accurately read and understand warnings, manuals and wiring schematics
